The Priests
RCA, 2008
Who’d have guessed it? Three Irish priests have become a pop sensation. Their debut self-titled album peaked at No. 66 on the U.S. pop charts after cracking the top 5 in Europe and New Zealand. Fathers Eugene and Martin O’Hagan (brothers) and Fr. David Delargy have been singing together since college. They recorded the album with the Philharmonic Academy of Rome Choir in St. Peter’s Basilica. The disc includes classics like “Ave Maria,” “Panis Angelicus,” “Pie Jesu” and “O Holy Night.”
