As we cross the threshold of a new year, it is with immense gratitude that I reflect on the accomplishments Legatus achieved in 2023, a testament to our collective commitment as ambassadors for Christ in the marketplace. I am thrilled to share the remarkable milestones that defined our 2023 journey.
One of the most gratifying achievements was adding over 300 new members to our Legatus family. Each new member brings a unique perspective and contributes to the diverse tapestry that makes our organization vibrant. It is inspiring to witness our community grow, knowing that we are extending the reach and impact of our shared mission.
The annual Summit in Orlando, FL, was a success, featuring esteemed speakers such as Jim Harbaugh, William Barr, and Raymond Arroyo. The Summit provided a space for prayer, intellectual nourishment, and fellowship. The theme was “Signs and Wonders,” and these were abundant during our time together, fostering a more profound connection among our members and empowering us to carry the light of faith into our respective spheres of influence.
We continue to create partnerships and tools to help our members in their vocation as ambassadors for Christ in the marketplace. Our collaboration with Hallow helps their daily faith walk. The Hallowtide YouTube original series, filmed in Los Angeles with the Carmelite Sisters, was widely popular. Our new jobs platform helps Legatus members and families find job opportunities and network.
Men’s and Women’s Enclaves continued to be a source of spiritual rejuvenation. These retreats offer a sacred pause in our busy lives, allowing us to reflect, recharge, and strengthen our commitment to living out our faith in the world.
Our engagement in the public square reached new heights through events like Catholics at the Capitol, centered around the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast. An exclusive lunch at the Capitol Hill Club featuring a compelling talk from Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) further solidified our presence as advocates for the values we hold dear.
In our pursuit of expansion and outreach, we chartered a new chapter in Nashville, TN. This strategic move broadens our footprint, enabling us to touch the lives of even more individuals who share our mission and vision.
Our membership renewal rate of 90 percent, the second-best rate in the past two decades, speaks volumes about our strength and vitality. This reflects the enduring bonds forged and the value members find within this unique organization.
Legatus’ members-only pilgrimages to Mexico City, France, and Croatia were not only journeys of faith but also opportunities to deepen our spiritual roots and forge lasting connections with fellow members. These experiences enriched our lives and expanded our horizons.
As we bid farewell to 2023, I can’t wait to share our goals for 2024 with in January at our Summit in Dana Point, CA. As ambassadors for Christ, we will continue to illuminate the path of faith, leadership, and service in the marketplace.
May God bless you and Legatus this year and always! Saint Homobonus, patron saint of business people, pray for us!
