The Chapter’s in-person event on September 3 was held at the beautiful St. John Vianney Theological Seminary grounds. Chapter chaplain Fr. Daniel Leonard celebrated Mass in an open-air tent. The evening’s featured speaker was Dr. Mario Enzler, a former Swiss Guard who gave a very engaging talk about his conversion and Pope John Paul II’s influence in his becoming a better man, businessman, and leader. The event was also attended via Zoom for those unable to come in person.
Phoenix
Phoenix Chapter Legates and guests met in person for the first time since February on September 9 at The Henry Restaurant. Chaplain Fr. Will Schmid celebrated Mass with speaker Fr. Dave Heney concelebrating, while at-home members “Zoomed” in to the service and dinner/speaker. Fr. Dave spoke about “Excavating Jesus,” enlightening attendees about archeological findings from the Holy Land.
Pittsburgh
Members of the Pittsburgh Chapter who have visited Medjugorje and plan to return in September 2021 with Fr. Tom Kunz, Chapter chaplain, would like to share what a radical faith experience it was and encourage others to join. Jim and Cathy Howe, along with Chris and Molly McMahon, Franny Stone, Cathy Crawford, Scott and Barbara Davidson, Fred and Christine Hespenheide, Pat and Andrea Molyneaux, and Frank and Christine Strano, have made this visit to the small village in Bosnia-Hercegovina, where Our Lady has been reported to appear to six visionaries. Cathy Howe has made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje 26 times since 1994, and has written a book about her experiences: A Heavenly Promise. “In these times of darkness, God has a peace plan. I believe the Blessed Virgin is being sent to earth to help God’s plan come into fruition! It is a simple plan, consisting of prayer, especially the rosary, frequent reception of the Holy Eucharist, regular Confession, reading the Bible, and fasting regularly. Through my experiences at Medjugorje, I know God is in charge, and that is peace itself!” For more information, contact [email protected].
