Healthnetwork Foundation has provided a vital and direct link for thousands of members and their families to top physicians and hospitals across the United States since 1991. As an organization that is firmly committed to giving back, Healthnetwork also donates substantial resources to leading physicians and medical institutions in order to make medicine better for everyone.

Here are some highlights of 2008 and what we look forward to in months ahead:

• Helping nearly 3,000 members (including nearly 200 Legates from 25 states)

• Building and strengthening relationships with major hospitals for our members, including these new alliances: Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.; Hospital for Special Surgery, New York; University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, geriatric program

• Strengthening our services with the addition of a medical director, Dr. Susan Locke, for the benefit of our members

Most importantly as part of our mission, Healthnetwork has donated more money than ever before. In 2008, our board of directors instituted a powerful research grant program, awarding 10 physicians annually for consistently going above and beyond in assisting our members.

Healthnetwork provided matching gifts alongside major member donations to fund three dedicated offices, and there are plans for more. These offices within our hospitals help to support our liaisons’ efforts and enhance member experiences at our hospitals.
