The Legatus Gala started 20 years ago as an annual celebration for the New York City-area Legatus community, combining all local chapters for a larger event in the City.  Over the years, the Gala has expanded to include other chapters in the Northeast and many other chapters beyond the region also represented by individual members.  Today, the Gala is the largest gathering of Legatus members in one place other than at the Legatus Summit each year.  230 attendees representing 17 Legatus chapters all over North America attended the 2016 Gala, and more are expected this year.  This year’s black-tie affair features remarks from Tom Monaghan, Founder and Chairman of Legatus, Mass celebrated by Bishop Frank Caggiano of the Diocese of Bridgeport and concelebrated by many other bishops and priests, and a keynote speech from Congressman Chris Smith, the Church’s great champion in the United States Congress.  All Legatus members are encouraged to attend this special event on Friday, December 1st in New York City.  For more information contact John Matthew Knowles, Legatus Director for the Northeast, at jknowles@legatus.org
